Providing a space for black women to find the support, training and resources they need to excel in their personal and professional lives.

About Us

The Careerist Project

The Project is a joint virtual group coaching venture between Moore Impactful Career Consulting, LLC and

 Brown Girl from Boston.

Shemika and Andrea joined forces to work together help black women to create a strategic and intentional plan to help them succeed in the next phase of their careers and lives!

We are also thrilled about our Social Impact Group Coaching Program. Throughout 6-weeks, we want participants to work on their holistic plan, personal, and professional development individually and collectively. It’s all about intentional and impact-fully rebuilding and rebranding a better version of ourselves.

What Makes Us Different

Most career coaches focus on the basics: resumes, interview preparation and LinkedIn profiles. We use – Experience, Holistic, Individualist and Motivation - to help black women ages 26-40 focus on their highest level of personal and career development.

We help each person: define success on their own terms, work on goal setting, understand their purpose and complete the inner work & healing process before going to their next level.

With the combination of career and life coaching, The Project will have a lasting impact on each woman that completes the program and life-time access to online resources, recorded classes, conference calls, presentations and handbooks.

So black women can win.

Do you know a woman who may be interested in enhancing her professional development?

Then come on in and meet Andrea and Shemika! These sista friends with strong southern roots in Alabama and Georgia created a platform named The Careerist Project*, that enhances the professional development of black women across the United States.

In this article, you will feel the passion and love that Andrea and Shemika have for ensuring that our black women thrive!

Black women are defining success for themselves...

The Forgotten Group

Black women are the primary focus of The Careerist Project. The career and personal development of young black women has been forgotten. And, the influence of racism and sexism in the career and personal development of Black American women is a topic that is often not spoken on. Black women are defining success for themselves, highly educated, but still unsure of how to navigate systems along their paths. Success comes at a high price for the Black community, especially for Black women.

The Careerist Project goal is to help each woman truly define what success looks like to her and ensure that her mental, emotional, and physical health are taken care of while she overcome career and life goals and challenges.

Did you know?

  • About 80% of the people living in poverty are women and children, and Black American women are over represented in those numbers.
  • Black women are 51.1% breadwinners of their families while occupying low-wage jobs despite education achievement.
  • 2.6 million Black women have a 4-year college degree but tend to be overrepresented in low-pay/low-skill jobs and underrepresented in high-skill and professional jobs compared to their White counterparts.
